This program blends film analysis, theory, and practice, focusing on Venice's unique representation through a multidisciplinary and multicultural lens, evident in both the faculty and student body. Students will explore the rich history, culture, and anthropology of Venice and its connection to visual media. They'll gain foundational knowledge in film analysis and filmmaking theory. The program also emphasizes practical filmmaking, encouraging students to create team projects inspired by Venice's iconic movie scenes, locations, and social character. These projects will employ a "complex narrative" approach in scriptwriting, culminating in a film screening and group discussion at the end of the Summer School. Deadline to apply: June 3, 2024.
