COALESCE-EUPRIO Spring School for Communication Officers
Venice International University, through its Science Communication unit, organizes an intensive Spring School open to communication officers from EUPRIO, the association of higher education communicators in Europe. The Spring School is proposed in the framework of the European Competence Centre for Science Communication that COALESCE project is establishing. COALESCE Academy, co-led by VIU and UWE Bristol as partners of COALESCE, will design and offer training opportunities for the different scicomm actors, by addressing complex topics and with different formats.
Through introductory talks, role-games, practical exercises labs, and co-design sessions, the Spring School involves experts joining both from COALESCE and EUPRIO, to deal with key and current challenges for communication officers active in universities and research institutions, such as dealing with tensions and priorities in university communication, adopting AI for effective communication and evaluating scicomm activities.
The School provides
- Cutting-edge strategies for communicating complex research topics as sustainability and AI
- Practical tools for evaluating communication activities and social media and their impact
- How to integrate AI into communication officers' daily work while maintaining control over its use
