VIU's Academic Programs provide a truly multicultural, international, and interdisciplinary environment for students and professors of the member universities.
VIU now has the opportunity to enrich the international experience to staff in the member universities by offering pathways to visit other member universities.
Who can take part?
This category of Erasmus mobility is for teaching or technical-administrative staff of the universities participating in the Mobility Consortium who wish to improve their skills through training abroad.
Depending on the home insitution, some restrictions may apply. Please refer to the calls for specific criteria.
Currently, KA131 outgoing mobility is reserved for staff at:
- Università degli Studi di Roma “Tor Vergata”
- Università degli Studi di Milano-Bicocca
KA171 outgoing mobility is open to staff at:
- Università degli Studi di Roma “Tor Vergata”
- Università degli Studi di Milano-Bicocca
- Università Ca' Foscari Venezia
- Università Iuav di Venezia
- Università degli Studi di Padova
Candidates must be in employment (permanent or temporary contract) at the member university at the time of application and during the proposed period of staff
mobility for training. A letter of authorization from the home institution is necessary in order to participate in the mobility.
The types of training that will be evaluated include:
- staff training weeks
- job shadowing
- workshops
- training activities
Teaching staff who wish to apply for mobility combining both teaching and training should apply via the Call for Applications for Staff Teaching.

- KU Leuven, Belgium
- Ludwig Maximilians Universität, Germany
- Université de Bordeaux, France
- University of Ljubljana, Slovenia
VIU member universities in selected KA171 partner countries:
- Stellenbosch University, South Africa
- European University at St. Petersburg, Russian Federation (currently suspended)
Duration:
The duration of training (Erasmus+ Programme Rules):
KA131 programme countries (Belgium, France, Germany, Slovenia)
- Minimum duration of teaching: 2 days (consecutive)
- Maximum duration of teaching: 60 days*
KA171 partner countries (South Africa)
- Minimum duration of teaching: 5 days
- Maximum duration of teaching: 60 days*
*Refer to the Calls for the real maximum duration, which will be dependent upon the available funding.
Financial Support:
Erasmus+ provides funding for staff mobility as a grant contribution towards subsistence (individual support) and travel.
The Erasmus+ Programme has introduced a “Green Travel” supplement to encourage mobility participants to choose sustainable modes of transport to their destination, such as travelling by bus, train, or car-pooling.
The Individual Support grant is a contribution towards all other costs for the individual including travel within the city, accommodation, meals and snacks.
Actual costs can be reimbursed up to these maximums, and are paid on the basis of receipted expenditure.
Individual support for up to 2 travel days may also be funded if requested at time of application. This can be increased to 4 travel days when Green Travel is used,
subject to request, approval and availability of funds.
The selected Staff will be responsible for arranging their own travel and insurance.
