If you are a PhD student or a researcher, you have the opportunity to present your own research in a presentation or poster session during the Summer School.

(*Please note that it is not compulsory to express the intention to present your research in this application form. You will also have the opportunity to submit a presentation proposal later in the course of the selection process. Successful candidates will then be invited to submit presentation/poster proposals).

Application procedure and cost

Students of VIU member universities: € 300 VAT incl.
Students of other universities: € 600 VAT incl.

The fees will cover tuition, course materials, lunches in the San Servolo cafeteria (4 working days on campus) and social events.
Student participants will be responsible for covering their own travel expenses to and from Venice, local transportation, and evening meals.

Accommodation

The cost of accommodation on VIU Campus in multiple rooms (triple/quadruple) with other participants is € 260 for 5 nights, breakfast and taxes included (Check in June 15, 2025 / Check out June 20, 2025).

Candidates can ask for VIU assistance for booking accommodation: please note that the facility is not managed by VIU.

In case of cancellation

- up to 90 days before the start date of the program, the tuition fee and the accommodation fee are refundable.
- between 90 days and 30 days before the start date of the program, 50% of the tuition fee and the accommodation fee are refundable.
- less than 30 days before the start date of the program, the tuition fee and accommodation fee are not refundable.
