March 1-2, 2018
Venice International University and Alcantara organize the Symposium “Coping with Change: Global Warming and Decarbonization”, to evaluate the impact that these global phenomena have on people’s lives, the behavior of companies, and on communications, and to highlight the role played by technology and innovations to face this subject.
Nowadays, global climate change is one of the most impactful risks with a very high probability of manifestation. Despite the importance of this issue, citizens seem to be distracted by nearer and more fearful urgencies, like social and personal security and unemployment. Moreover, their perceptions of the evolving local and global situation change rapidly, because of the booming availability of information, and the coexistence of very different opinions within the debate.
During an intensive two-day workshop, world-class scientists, economists, academics, managers of top corporations, science writers, governmental and non-governmental organizations will animate the discussion in an open way.
This is the fourth edition of our Symposium, following the previous ones organized by Alcantara and Venice International University. The 2016 edition “Sustainability and Corporate Value” was held in Tokyo, also with the collaboration of Nikkei, and Waseda University. While the 2014 and 2015 editions - titled respectively “Sustainability and the New Automotive Value Chain” and “The Automotive Ecosystem on the Global road to Sustainability, the Asian Perspective” - took place at Venice International University.
Please find here the agenda of the Symposium.
The Symposium will be streamed live on the VIU YouTube Channel, follow it and updates about speakers and agenda in the Facebook event: http://bit.ly/4Symposium
