Tea2B n°5 | Veil, Ignorance, and the Veil of Ignorance

In Iran, women and men are protesting against the Iranian government while burning their mandatorily-worn veils. The protests started with the death in police custody of Mahsa Amini and have been ongoing since September 2022. On the other side of the world, France bans the concealment of the face in public spaces and the wearing of religious symbols in public schools.
Students and professors are invited to informally discuss personal choice, religious freedom, and cultural identity along with the values of the Mahsa Amini movement and freedom of protest.

More than a year has passed since the terrible events of February 24, 2022. During this year, many people have experienced a whole range of emotions: shock, anger, shame, grief, and so on. The consequences of this conflict affected everyone. Moreover, this war produced an incredible media effect, it was observed "live" in almost every part of the world. After 385 days, the question of the future of this conflict is still open. Students and Professors are invited to discuss the hard topic of war and tell how this tragedy is seen in different cultural contexts.
