As the second semester of the 2020-2021 academic year starts, some students and professors get to know for their first time the interesting and multicultural reality of VIU, while some other VIU aficionados are joining us once again.
Notwithstanding the pandemic situation, VIU and its staff have tirelessly worked for a safe return to in-person teaching classes and will be happy to welcome everyone back to San Servolo Island on Monday, March 8, 2021.
To make sure that students attending classes both in-person and entirely online feel part of the international VIU community, the Globalization Program staff has organized the second edition of the Virtual Exchange, a month-long series of online meetings in which students can discuss and freely express their opinions on the different topics proposed, and get the opportunity to socialize with their peers.
The Opening Ceremony of the semester took place online with a Lectio Magistralis by Luca Pes on Narratives of the Origins of Venice.
VIU is also proud of this semester's numbers: during such a difficult time, the academic community has in fact shown that education knows no limits, reaching 120 students enrolled on the Globalization Program, coming from all over the world.
Most students will attend courses here in Venice, but some will be afforded the opportunity to follow the courses virtually so that they do not miss out on the opportunity for international mobility. We are impressed by the resilience and determination of our students and look forward to meeting them soon at VIU.
