Christiaan shared insights about VIU academics and his life in Venice in an interview, as a former Globalization Program student.
“VIU in 3 words? Course work: interdisciplinary. My time here has been: fun. And made good friends, so two words: good company.”
“I think there is a lot of emphasis placed on presenting your work and contributing in class, speaking with others. I think that is such an important skill, not only as an academic scholar, but going on work one day. That is where the sense of interdisciplinary comes in as well. You’re gonna be working with different people one day – there is a lot to take away from this, you are constantly exposed, working together, and I think it is really nice element to take away from my time here. ”
“It is such an incredible experience. The dearest… exchanching cultures is what made it special, students from Japan, France, etc. going out experiencing Venice together as strangers almost but becoming friends along the way.”
“As a conclusion maybe, that VIU has been an incredible experience, I have made good friends, I’ve learned a lot in my classes and I take heaps of experience back home for studying further or going to a work place. There is so much to learn from other people and your classes, so it’s been an absolutely wonderful experience.”
