I chose VIU, because it creates the opportunity to attend courses concerning extremely contemporary topics taught by professors from some of the leading academic centres worldwide.
I would recommend anyone to apply to the Venice International University’s program. Life on the island permits to slow down the turbulence of the accelerating contemporary world, well present also in Venice with the ever-growing touristic mass. The trees reconcile the studies and the calm allow you to better assimilate the concepts learned during the day, discovering patterns in your past ignored before and reconsidering your own life.
I think this experience was very useful for me and my future career, partly because at VIU I met some of the professors who changed my perspective on the world. This environment facilitates a close relationship with the class and personal contact with the professor.
Finally, as part of the VIU Mobility Consortium’s Erasmus+ program, I also had the opportunity to do a study period abroad, thanks to which I spent the first semester of my second year at KU Leuven (Belgium). My experience there was great: Leuven is a small student-friendly university city, very close to Brussels. It was certainly also through this period abroad that I grew up a lot, being surrounded by an international community and living in the core of continental Europe.
