Dear friends.
Many congratulations to everyone at VIU on reaching your 25th anniversary. The University of Exeter is one of the newest members of VIU, but already our staff and students have benefitted from the exchange of views and the academic and cultural dialogue that comes from bringing twenty institutions together from across the globe. The concept of VIU was an inspired idea, and it has proved even better in practice, by enriching the lives of countless students and faculty. We very much look forward to being part of VIU for at least another 25 years, and are very excited at what the future holds as digital technology opens up further opportunities for collaboration. On a personal note it is an absolute privilege to be a member of the Board of Directors and I look forward to working with all my colleagues there to help ensure the best possible future for VIU.
