Veneto Region Law 8/2003 on Production Clusters gave the possibility to the Industrial District of Veneto to carry on two different projects which aimed at empowering the air-conditioning and industrial refrigeration sector in the area of Padua, through the implementation of supply chain communication tool and the creation of a front-line for bespoke services.
Targeted training and research planning was also realised, to increase innovation processes within Italian SMEs and the territory.
Venice International University was partner of this two projects as consultant for the following activities:
Web Portal project
Companies’ analysis, process design and project management of district portal services implementation. Support in the launch of the community of practice, that feeded the inside-out and outside-in dialogues.
Service and survey center project
District’s analysis, modelling of the survey and of the related – virtual and desk - support services for SMEs, local public administration and stakeholders. The in-depth cluster and market analysis, as much as the scenario thinking perspective generated a strong base for competencies, business process, products and know-how development, and, finally, stimulate supply chain integration
Access to business services through a web portal and creation of a knowledge repository as a common source were investigated since 2004 within the Air-Conditioning and Industrial Refrigeration District, by a close collaboration amongs the natural hubs of the territory, Refricold, Sapi and Unindustria Padova.
