The Patriarchal Cathedral Basilica of Saint Mark is one of the best-known examples of Italo-Byzantine architecture. It is famous for its opulent design, gold ground mosaics, and its status as a symbol of Venetian wealth and power, from the 11th century on the building has been known by the nickname Chiesa d'Oro (Church of gold).
The whole Church will be reserved for our group and during this private visit we will be able to appreciate its mosaics in all their splendor.
The visit is open to all VIU students and faculty, up to 50 people, and the cost is 10 euro/person.
To participate, don't forget to register and bring the ticket fee to the Front Office by Tuesday, October 1 at 12 pm.
