What defines an emergency:
- Hospitalization
- Serious injury or assault
- Acute psychological problems
- Death or disappearance of a student
- Arrest or questioning by police
- Serious illness or death of a close relative
What a student or parent should do in the event of an emergency
1. For emergencies that occur during normal office hours, call VIU directly: (+39) 041 2719 511
Office Hours: Monday – Friday, 8.45 am - 4.45 pm
2. For emergencies that occur outside normal office hours or during the weekend, call the following emergency numbers as VIU does not provide a 24/7 emergency support service:
Carabinieri 112
Police 113
Fire Department 115
Ambulance 118
Also notify VIU staff by writing to: student-services@univiu.org
Leave your name, location, and number where you can be contacted, and a brief message about the nature of the emergency. Staff will follow up to provide support as soon as possible.

Please fill out the form in order to allow VIU staff to reach you and/or your next-of-kin in case of an emergency.
The form is available in the students' personal pages in the bottom right side of the page, at the link "Emergency contacts". There you will be asked to write the contact details of the person you would like to be contacted in case of an emergency.
In the event of an emergency on campus please follow the Emergency procedures and evacuation plans.
