VIULecture: The Bangladeshi Community in Venice and London: Sociological, Sociolinguistic and Educational Perspectives (S2505, S2508)

The event is open to all students and faculty. This lecture has been adopted as part of the courses S2505 Intercultural Communication and S2508 Identity, Heritage and Globalization. Students enrolled are required to attend in person. More information at this link.

Gastronomic workshop at Istituto Venezia (S2523, S2524)
Friday, March 21, 10.30 am - 12.30 pm
The activity will consist in a 2-hour session learning about the lagoon islands (Sant'Erasmo, Vignole, Treporti), focusing on the violet artichoke; its cultivation, history, and connection to vineyards. The session will include historical insights and a cooking demonstration featuring artichoke recipes.
This co-curricular activity is an integral part of the courses S2523 How Humanists Explore Environments and S2524 The Anthropocene: Global Histories and is therefore strongly recommended and sponsored by VIU for enrolled students. However, note that enrolled students must confirm their participation by signing up on the list by Wednesday, March 19, 12 pm, at the Front Office.
For non enrolled students interested in joining, the ticket fee is 10€ to pay at the moment of registration (the exact fee in cash).
Participants will receive further information about the meeting time and point the day before the visit.
