Tea2B: "Veil, Ignorance and the Veil of Ignorance"
Monday, March 27, 4.30 pm
San Servolo Café
In Iran, women and men are protesting against the Iranian government while burning their mandatorily-worn veils. The protests started with the death in police custody of Mahsa Amini and have been ongoing since September 2022. On the other side of the world, France bans face concealment in public spaces and the wearing of religious symbols in public schools.
Students and professors are invited to informally discuss personal choice, religious freedom, and cultural identity along with the values of the Mahsa Amini movement and freedom of protest.
The weekly meetings of the Tea2B are scheduled every Monday afternoon at 4.30 pm.
Tea2B is an opportunity for professors and students to discuss several topics in a friendly environment. This activity is open to all students and faculty.
