World Water Day, on 22 March every year, is about focusing attention on the importance of water. The theme for World Water Day 2018 is ‘Nature for Water’ – exploring nature-based solutions to the water challenges we face in the 21st century.

This is the 2nd edition of the simulation of the EU legislative procedure, open to university students. The participants will adopt the roles of the members of the European Commission, European Parliament and the Council of the European Union, following the steps of the ordinary legislative procedure by which directives and regulations are adopted.

During the Opening Ceremony of the Spring Semester on February 21, the President of VIU, Amb. Umberto Vattani, announced that earlier in the day the VIU Board of Directors had voted unanimously to admit the prestigious Korea University to the Venice International University consortium.

Bridges and Walls:  Anthropological and Artistic Reflections on the U.S./Mexico Border

On the occasion of the 57th International Art Exhibition - Biennale di Venezia, and following the positive experience of the 2015 edition, San Servolo island hosts Dicono dell’Arte, a series of conferences dedicated to contemporary art. The cycle is organized by: San Servolo srl, Collegio Internazionale Ca' Foscari, Venice International University and Waterlines – artistic and literary residencies.

Prominent contributors to the fields of photography and image, design, writing, theology and economics of art will meet university students and the public who are interested in sharing experience and ideas about the world of the arts and aesthetics, and possible applications in modern working careers.

Since September 4, over 150 students have come from the world over to attend courses of the Globalization Program - Fall 2017 term. A total of 24 courses taught by distinguished professors from VIU's member universities are on offer, distributed across the core topics Italy, Cultures of the World and Global Challenges, and the specialization track on Economics, Management And Digital Technologies Applied To Cultural Heritage. 

Among these students, three were selected as winners of the RED (Residency-Excellence-Diversity) Scholarship:

Anouk Chambaz, BA student in Social Sciences and Philosophy at Lausanne, Switzerland
Sharon Shilon, BA student in Psychology and Business Management at Tel Aviv, Israel
Susann Kuehn, MA student in History of Art at LMU, Germany

The Fall 2017 semester of the Globalization Program begins on Monday, 4 September and will end on December 15, 2017 with the exam week.

Excellence, Internships & Mobility program: international students awarded

 

On June 1st the Closing Ceremony of the Spring 2017 term was an occasion to thank all the students and professors who participated in the multiple activities and courses of this semester together.
During the Ceremony we announced the awards to some of the most deserving students, who applied for VIU awards for Internships in Italy and for the International mobility. Furthermore some selected students were awarded an Excellence decoration for their evolving performance and achievements in the different courses attended.
